Occupation: Freelancing sound engineer (doing post production, live and the occasional recording/mixing, but I'd like to do more mixing) Own band: Just restarting, have nothing to show at the moment I've been posting here on and off lately, saw this thread now and decided it's time to properly introduce myself. Using EZDrummer Metal Machine for drums cause I can't afford Superior. Not really doing any vocals or anything that requires an XLR input really so I don't have an interface or any mics. I use either X30/X50/Le456, or the XT for guitar tones depending on how I'm feeling. Using Reaper, and a POD XT Pro for guitar/bass input. Production Gear: I'm poor as fuck so all my gear is crap, pretty much. Goal: To make music that I love, and become the best musician I can be.
I'm producing my band's demo if that counts In the way that it's tight like a prog metal album should be, but still sounds so natural. Lol, u mad? But nah, I don't really have a favourite producer, but my favourite style of production is similar to that of Textures' 'Dualism'. And of course, prog, both old and new (Camel, Karnivool etc)įavorite Band: It changes all the time, but right now, Karnivool.įavorite Producer: Joey Sturgis. Musical Tastes: Pretty much most subgenres of metal. most of my higher-end gear is guitar-based (LAG Arkane Master Series, Hughes & Kettner Switchblade etc.)īeen an occasional lurker for a while - decided to try and get involved a little, as some of you guys give so much (the final tipping point being Ermz's awesome mixing guide). Gear: Nothing to shout about, other than love for my Apogee Duet.
Production Experience: Not much, other than my band's new release (out 23rd April), mostly just worked on small-time things with local people. Atm, one of these: Unearth - The March, A7X - Waking The Fallen (or City of Evil), Dream Theater - Images & Wordsįavorite Producer: Liking most stuff Adam D touches lately (though the latest Shadows Fall mix was produced by him and whoever mixed it has ruined his efforts it seems). Maiden, Firewind, A7X (WTF/CoE/self-titled era), Rammstein, Amon Amarthįavorite Album: Changes regularly. Musical Tastes: Mainly rock and metal also like a bit of most things though (except dubstep and 'urban')įavorite Band: Don't have just one.
